The M.A.R.S.H.E.L.L.E Project

The M.A.R.S.H.E.L.L.E Project is a youth empowerment and healing initiative that uses the powerful bond between horses and humans to help foster youth and kids facing mental health challenges build resilience, trust, and confidence. Inspired by founder Marshelle Jordon’s lived experiences and the legacy of her grandmother, the project transforms struggle into strengths, giving young people a safe space to heal, express themselves, and grow. Through equine- assisted activities, mentorship, and community support, The M.A.R.S.H.E.L.L.E Project offers every participant hope, reminding them they are seen, valued, and more than capable of thriving.

The M.A.R.S.H.E.L.L.E Project started from the project founders journey of healing and self-discovery. Spending time with horses and learning to understand their personalities and emotions, taught the project founder the beauty of connection, trust, and empathy in a completely new way. This experience led the former foster system project founder to think about how kids in the foster system don't get these kinds of opportunities; never get to ride a horse, experience animals as healers, or explore something that could become a lifelong passion. The M.A.R.S.H.E.L.L.E Project was created because the project founder wants to give youth the chance to heal, grow, and discover themselves through meaningful experiences with animals. The goal is to help them find confidence, joy, and new opportunities, just like the project founder discovered through this journey.
