A p-patch bench and biochar stove designed by Octopie Seattle

Octopie Seattle is a group of community members who facilitate workshops that teach people how to build and use biochar stoves, which use less fuel and emit fewer harmful gases than other stoves do. The group also intends for these stoves to be an artful addition to neighborhood p-patches such as the Beacon Hill Food Forest, which is a current partner of theirs.

To contribute functional art to Cascadian neighborhoods and continue to educate about biochar stoves, Octopie Seattle plans to sell pizza that they cooked in their ovens.  Look for them at a Farmer's Market near you, check out their stoves on Flickr, "like" their Facebook page, and learnmore about biochar and the Octopie Seattle project here. You can also donate to this specific part of the Cascadia movement here.
