Join CascadiaNow! project Cascadia Climate Action for Climate Science on Tap's "Energy and Climate Policy at the Crossroads!"

Will the World Act on Climate Change Fast Enough? Two years ago, nations came together for an inspiring, although long overdue global agreement for climate action. Now, climate deniers control EPA. Stronger action by state and local governments may give hope for enactment of critical energy and climate policy. What can Washington State do? What can we each do?

"Energy and Climate Policy at the Crossroads" panel of leading experts include Reed Schuler, J.D., Senior Climate Policy Advisor to Washington State Governor Inslee and former State Department negotiator at the 2015 Paris Climate Talks; Nick Touran, Ph.D. Nuclear Physicist, TerraPower; and LuAnne Thompson, Ph.D. Oceanographer, UW Program on Climate Change. Moderator: P. Sean McDonald, Ph.D., Program on the Environment, and School for Aquatic and Fishery Sciences, University of Washington. Come enjoy the panel discussion and pose your own questions!

Doors open at 6:00pm. Climate Trivia at 6:30. Panel starts at 7:00pm. Learn about policy strategies for meeting world energy needs without climate-changing fossil fuels. Buy dinner at Cycle Dogs food truck, purchase some Lagunitas beer, or cider, and join a lively conversation around the tables. This is a free, all ages event.
