The Cascadia SkillShare and Barter Faire is a fun, all-ages festival about teaching and learning all kinds of useful, handy, and practical skills. Years ago, lots of people knew how to repair and sharpen tools, make a braided rug, raise chickens, make soap, build a fence, make simple toys, and much more.
The goal of the Skill Share and Barter Faire is to help revive those skills, showcase some new ones, and provide a place where all of us can come learn from people more experienced in these crafts and trades. The Faire also seeks to build a bartering community in Northwest Washington so that we can share our abundance, get the things we can't produce ourselves, and build community.
This year's location is the Lookout Arts Quarry, 12 miles south of Bellingham, WA, a gorgeous location that will allow camping, swimming, multiple stages of music (a big one for dancing and an intimate one for acoustic music), plus a myriad of creative wonders created by our hosts, the Lookout Arts Quarry.
