Political Endorsement Policy

CascadiaNow! (CN!) chapters may choose to endorse or oppose ballot measures or legislation. CN! may also choose to endorse or oppose ballot measures or legislation when invited to do so by trusted partners.

The following criteria should be used to determine whether political endorsement or opposition furthers CN!’s mission:

1. Under no circumstances shall CN! or any of its chapters endorse or oppose:

     a. an individual candidate for any office; or

     b. any political party.

2. All political endorsements or opposition should align with CN!’s Guiding Values and organizational policies, including the Diversity Inclusion Policy, Kindness Policy, and Partnership Policy.

3. All political endorsements or opposition should have a clear, fact-based connection to significant impacts in Cascadia.

4. No political endorsement or opposition should negatively impact CN!’s ability to support any current or future CN! chapter.

CN! is confident in all of its chapters’ intentions to further positive change across Cascadia. In the unlikely and unfortunate event that a chapter undertakes activities which involve political endorsement or opposition, and which violate the above-outlined criteria, the CN! Board of Directors reserves the authority to prohibit allocation of CN! resources, including use of the name “CascadiaNow!”, to said activities.
