Washington State has finally passed industrial hemp legislation ~ now what? Let’s learn how to farm it! Joy Beckerman, Principal at Hemp Ace International is very pleased to present "Industrial Hemp Farming Basics" along with an update on Washington’s new hemp law and the current creation of Washington’s hemp program by the State Department of Agriculture. Joy will also introduce regenerative, nature-mimicking agronomic practices that will promote the brightest future for farmers and our precious soil (e.g. soil ecology, cover cropping, IPM, function stacking). Joining remotely for the Q&A session will be Missouri-born industrial hemp agronomist Anndrea Hermann, M.Sc, B.GS, P.Ag. of The Ridge Consulting, an internationally renowned industrial hemp expert who teaches the world's first college course on industrial hemp from her farm in Manitoba via Oregon State University's eCampus. Anndrea has been stewarding Canada's industrial hemp crop for more than 15 years and is an industry leader of industry leaders. We will address all points of industrial hemp agronomy, including field preparation; cultivar selection; crop rotations; sowing; fertilization; weed, disease and insect management; harvesting, drying and storing; and equipment. If you’re considering applying for a hemp cultivation license in Washington State in 2017, don’t miss this free opportunity to learn!
