The Cascadian Independence Project is a grassroots movement built around democratic principles. As such, we believe that everybody has unique talents which can help strengthen our organization and its effectiveness.

If you are interested in volunteering or working with our group, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . There are a wide variety of ways in which to help out. If you have any special interests, would like to let us know how you think you can help or just to show your support please don't hesitate to contact us.

Visit our get involved page for an easy list of things you can do to help. If you are thinking about volunteering, please also register for our site, then join the discussion on our blogs, social network and forums (and bookmark it!). Also, think about signing up for our email updates, which generally go out about once a month. If you would like to volunteer, here are some of the areas that we can use help in:

Regional Organizers

Currently, we are organizing regional teams to help spread our message. Please consider becoming a regional coordinator or starting a chapter or student group near you if you want to get involved in your community. Join members already working in Vancouver BC, Bellingham, Seattle, Bellevue, Olympia, Walla Walla, Spokane, Portland and Salem.

Visit our list of Chapters and Groups for more information about specific groups, as well as information on getting your own group started.

Technology

The Cascadian Independence Project is looking to expand our team of technology experts as we develop our web presence, voting platform, and other software. Web design, HTML/CSS, Drupal, Joomla and/or PHP experience are great, and any help is appreciated!

Legal and Finance

The CIP can use the assistance of legal experts, especially with experience in forming non-profit and/or political organizations. As we continue to organize, we are also looking for volunteers with experience in accounting–particularly with a non-profit or political organization.

Marketing and Outreach

It’s important for a growing organization to keep its members appraised of developments and reach out to motivated people. We also need folks to help us with media relations. We’re looking for people with experience in media planning, advertising, and press relations.

Writers

We are always looking for content writers and editors to join our writing team. Our writing team works closely with web development, marketing, and fundraising to help develop our content and press.

Research

The Cascadian Independence Project would love anyone who enjoys research and reading, to help expand our ever increasing archive of Cascadia related and relevant history, writing, and information.
